1 am writing to express my strong support and most sincere and unwavering respect for Dana Asis. a
I have known Ms. Asis for 5 years in which time I have been witness to her consistent example of
personal integrity and professional ethics.
Throughout her career, volunteer work, and private life, it is clear that Ms. Asis holds herself to the
highest standards, inspiring others to step up to her levels of competence, diligence, and even-handed
conduct.
l�:ven while attending to the most technical and minute of details, Dana always seems to maintain a wide-
view perspective on how a given project or individual task contributes to the greater good of her clients,
colleagues, and the broader community.
I value Dana's input whenever I ant fortunate enough to be able to consult her regarding matters large or
small. She never fails to provide a fair and balanced assessment of any issue, no matter how complex.
\Vhen I tell people I have worked with Dana Asis, I hear similar sentiments about others' experiences
with Dana. Anyone I encounter who knows her seems to regard Dana as a trusted, knowledgeable, and
resourceful adviser as well as a caring contributor to our community.
Ms. Asis possesses a truly rare combination: a nuanced, deep appreciation of local history along with an
extensive understanding of the current and future challenges and opportunities facing Hawaii Island.
For these reasons, I have the utmost confidence in Dana's ability to serve this community's needs.
Moreover, I am genuinely hopeful that her leadership would help ensure that our most precious
resources are well stewarded and properly put to their highest and best uses.
I appreciate the Committee's consideration of this testimony and consideration of Dana Asis for Leeward
Planning Commissioner.
