My name is Eric Watanabe. I am a Grade 1 Operator at the Hawaii County Wastewater Treatment Plant in Hilo. I have been a
operator for 8 years. Please oppose any and all efforts to a private/public partnership. It is my understanding that the councilman 3

from Waimea is in support of SB997 that was introduced by Senator Inouye. It has since come to our knowledge that the Mayor and
the Director of Environmental Management were the ones that authored this bill. We strongly oppose any and all attempts to j
privatize any county facilities and or their union members.
