I'm writing in support of Resolution 59-21 -Communication 135, to help fund the preparation of the annual Makahiki
Celebration in Keaukaha.
I'm writing today in as a long standing educator in the Hawaiian Immersion program, Ka 'Umeke Kaa'eo, located in Keaukaha
.We have participated in the annual Makahiki ceremony at Kula Pae for the past 15 years.
The Makahiki Ceremony provides an opportunity for the larger Keaukaha community to come together to build and strengthen I
community bonds and relationships. Ensuring the larger communities prosperity.
This funding will allow those who have previously taken the lead in organizing and coordinating the 4 day long celebration to
reach out to a larger audience to include additional community organizations in the Makahiki Ceremony, to strengthen the
prosperity for our community.
