Evidently the council commissioner has not followed the due process for approval for the location of this generous cultural donation... that being said, the sculpture has been placed and reports say it will now be removed...insult to every aspect of this unnecessary controversy. Expanding culture snd art in our humble town is a wonderful gift... and the city has, right wrong or otherwise paid for the installation of this piece. Now, obviously the process is under revue, hindsight being what it is, why can't the piece simply remain in place until it goes thru the due process and is either approved at that location or another location , and not add the cost of moving it twice ????There are sculptures all over town no citizen knows how or why they got there, but cool, there they are. I don't live many of them, but a town with more culture reflects more of its citizens. This piece by Bianchini is an amazing g gift to the people and cultures that embrace a survival relationship with the sea... is tolerance, efficiency and bottom line cost NO consideration in this unfortunate process? The commissioner placed this piece with good intentions, may we not go forward with best intentions, and make the process about where it will reside, not that it shouldn't have be n placed there at all??? Newspaper sell controversy,we need healing, and greater depth in our culture about now. How can I an average citizen use my voice to stop the madness of moving this donation until it is fully decided upon?
