A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO IKAIKAMAULOA YOUTH
FOUNDATION INC. TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS KONA GOLD BOXING CLUB.
WHEREAS, Ikaikamauloa Youth Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to provide youth with opportunities for engagement that focus on resilience, empowerment,
and health and wellness education at its Kona Gold Boxing Club in Kailua-Kona; and
WHEREAS, the Kona Gold Boxing Club is a youth and community center serving West Hawai‘i that provides a safe space for personal fitness and sports such as boxing, jiu-jitsu, and weight-lifting,
as well as academic support and creative-study activities; and
WHEREAS, Ikaikamauloa Youth Foundation Inc. is requesting funds to pay for boxing equipment such as boxing shoes, headgear, gloves, protective gear, speed bags, reflex bags, supplies,
and other miscellaneous expenses for the Kona Gold Boxing Club; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public and youth programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment, such
as the Kona Gold Boxing Club; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to Ikaikamauloa Youth Foundation Inc. for expenses related to its Kona Gold Boxing Club.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
