RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS AIR COMPRESSOR FROM THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the State of Hawai‘i, Department of Transportation, Airports Division is donating one (1) self-contained breathing apparatus air compressor to the Hawai‘i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the County of Hawai‘i Fire Department to fill air tanks at the Waiākea Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr. Denis Nagao, Hilo International Airport Fire Department, 2450 Kekuanaoa St., Ste. 215,
Hilo, HI 96720.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Fire Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
