Jean and Laura—This is an ANONYMOUS TESTIMONY sent in re Mark Van Pernis. Please process if possible.
My motivation was to give you my concerns regarding the agenda for Tuesday Planning Committee. Just know
that I want to defend the position of Mark Van Pernis. He may be obnoxious, it is his drive and determination
for representing the public that is at stake. He does that exceedingly well. The "sham" portrayed by the
Mayor and more specifically Director Zern is off the charts. Were it not for Mark, Zern's "staff mistake"to sign
off on a questionable permit was only due to Mark's probing. The public is well aware and watching how
getting "qualified" people on the commission stands against Zendo's being unqualified, by charter, to hold his
post.
That's the essence of my wishing to talk story. Political figures are already distrusted overall so this kind of
garbage combined with the issue of our Director of Public Works just adds to the distrust. I would normally go
public on this with WHT and social media but I have a possible land use issue to present and I fully distrust the
powers that be to not black ball me in my pursuits.
