RE: Retaining Mark Van Pernis on Leeward Panning Commission
We find it disturbing and question Mayor Roth's request to remove Mark Van Pernis from the Leeward Planning Commission.
Mark Van Pernis has proven himself to advocate for the community with his questions arising from specific and legitimate concerns.
Mr.Van Pernis is not one who is focus on self serving or personal agendas but someone who has respect and mindful concerns and
considerations for our community as a whole. For Mayor Roth to request removal of Mr.Van Pernis from the Leeward Planning
Commission concerns me. It suggests Mayor Roth has a personal agenda and is prepared to remove anyone that is not in agreement
with him. Mayor Roth seems to be concern with lining himself with "YES"folks such as his appointee Zendo Kern. Huge
disappointment and the fact that Mr. Kern has already misrepresented himself by approving a plat on a project he consulted on. I
voted for Mayor Roth and now with some regret.
We need Mark Van Pernis to stay on the Leeward Planning department. We need Mark Van Pernis to continue to ask uncomfortable
questions and hold individuals including the Mayor accountable. This is not what is beneficial for the Mayor, but what is in the
interest of the community as a whole.
