Please consider and create mass transit for the elderly in the plans for hubs on both sides of the island.
There is no bus stop at the Mohouli Senior Residence in Hilo where several hundred elderly and disabled live. These senior housing
developments should be included in any plan for mass transit. Many seniors either do not own cars or can no longer drive.Arranging
for van transportation for doctor appointments or shopping maybe complicated and limited.
Although Mohouli and Komehana streets are busy and do not have timed street lights, there is a large paved turnout on the north
side of Komehana street that would allow a bus stop without crossing the street if there were an entry gate to the facility at that
intersection. It's all in the planning.
These needed services are best added during the COH development stage rather than trying to fix them later.A large or small Senior
Residence deserves transportation as much as electricity and water.
