Re: Resolution for multi-year leases
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year,
for new multi-year lease agreements for two multifunction copy machines for the Office
of the Corporation Counsel. The monthly cost will be approximately $550.00 per copier.
The Office of the Corporation Counsel requests that this resolution be waived from the
Finance Committee and be placed on the May 5, 2021 Council agenda in order to
expedite this process. If there are any questions,please do not hesitate to call Stacie
Okuda of the Office of the Corporation Counsel at 961-8251.

A. REQUEST:
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for five (5) years for two (2)
multi-function copier machines for the Office of the Corporation Counsel.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The original multi-function copier machine lease has ended. The current copier has had several trouble calls
and longer down times have lead to this request for a new copier.
The second multi-function copier lease is to furnish the Kona office for the personnel that will be reporting to
that office. This will be the first lease for that location.
The multi-function copier machines will be leased for a period of 5 years which will include maintenance and
servicing. The estimated monthly cost for the two (2) leases will be approximately $1,100 per month. Funding
for the lease in included in the FY 2020-2021 budget and the FY 2021-2022 budget.
The Department would like to request to waive the Finance Committee to be placed on the next Council
agenda since the lease is expired.

RE: RESOLUTION NO. 108-21 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE
FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR TWO (2) MULTIFUNCTION
COPY MACHINES FOR THE OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
