Enclosed is a resolution creating thirty (30)temporary Police Officer I positions for the Hawai`i County Police Department. These positions are solely used for Police recruits during the training process. Upon graduating these recruits are transferred to full-time funded positions. The Police Department respectfully requests that a breach be authorized to submit this resolution after the April 16, 2021 submission deadline, and to waive it from the Finance Committee in order to be placed on the May 5, 2021 Council agenda. They also request that the five-day hold for reconsideration period be waived in order to further expedite this resolution. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Samuel V. In reviewing this matter,timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
