RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION CREATING THIRTY (30) POLICE OFFICER I (TEMP) POSITIONS FOR THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting to add thirty (30) Police Office I (Temp) positions; and
WHEREAS, the creation of these positions are needed to accommodate Police recruits during the training process; and
WHEREAS, upon graduating these recruits will be placed in permanent full-time funded positions; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that thirty (30) Police Office I (Temp) positions be created in the Hawai‘i County Police Department.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of Finance and the Police Department.
