COUNTY OF HAWAII �tv Or Nom. +��T�•OFNI,i�► RESOLUTION NO STATE OF HAWAII A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WEST HAWAII VETERANS CEMETERY DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION ASSOCIATION, INC., TO CONSTRUCT A GOLD STAR MEMORIAL. WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion Association, Inc., (WHVCDEA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to maintaining and beautifying the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery-Pu`u Ho`omaha O Na Po`e Koa O Hawaii Komohana (WHVC); and WHEREAS, in honor of our veteran heroes and their many sacrifices, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary to the Christopher Camero Memorial VFW Post 12122 will be constructing a Gold Star Memorial at the WHVC; and WHEREAS, the WHVCDEA has requested financial assistance to defray the cost associated with the construction of the Gold Star Memorial; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation works in partnership with WHVCDEA and is supportive of its efforts to maintain and improve WHVC; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to WHVCDEA to construct a Gold Star Memorial at WHVC. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
