A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE 2021 SUMMER FUN PROGRAM AT THE
KEKUAOKALANI GYM.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation’s 2021 Summer Fun Program at the Kekuaokalani Gym, located in Kailua, provides arts-and-crafts activities, indoor/outdoor games, sports,
music, dance, nature exploration, swimming, special events, and excursions for elementary students during the summer break; and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to assist low-income families in the North Kona district to ensure an affordable opportunity for their children to participate in the 2021 Summer Fun Program;
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting Contingency Relief funds to offset the out-of-pocket costs per child for registration fees, transportation, and/or other
activities for its 2021 Summer Fun Program at Kekuaokalani Gym; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation for its 2021
Summer Fun Program at Kekuaokalani Gym.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
