I am writing this letter out of great concern for the injustice perpetrated on us owners of
homes in Queen Liliokalani Tract in Kona. We have been slapped with sewer Wastewater Dept.
bills that are unfair. We are not connected to any sewer and in fact have always used our
cesspools for waste. Thank you for your serious consideration to our plight. We were told by
our lawyer that it is in the hands of the County Council to help us to settle this misunderstanding
between the county wastewater division and our tract of homes. Most owners in this area have
low paying jobs, if any, and can not afford to pay additional fees that the wastewater division
has been levying against us. This would be an extreme hardship plus being unfair since we are
not receiving the benefits of being able to use the county sewer system.
I am asking you to please read and seriously consider all the information which our
lawyer, Matt Jewel has presented to you on our behalf. Please help us out of this problem. It is
overwhelming to us. Because we could not pay in protest, the county has threatened to ruin our
credit ratings. They want to take action against us financially.
