HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 120 Draft 01 2020-2022COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 120 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION FOR THE 2021 WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL COMMEMORATIVE GIFT FOR GRADUATING SENIORS. WHEREAS, Waiakea High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a subordinate unit of PTA Hawaii Congress, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; and WHEREAS, Waiakea High School PTSA assists Waiakea High School and its students with programs and activities, including graduation ceremonies; and WHEREAS, traditional graduation night activities designed to provide a healthy and safe venue for graduates have been cancelled due to COVID 19 restrictions; and WHEREAS, as an alternative to traditional graduation night festivities, Waiakea High School PTSA will be presenting a unique gift to each graduate to commemorate this milestone achievement; and WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School PTSA is requesting funds to defray the cost of the 2021 commemorative gift for graduating seniors; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is,to support programs that promote the health, education, and well-being of the youth in our community with alcohol- and drug-free events such as graduation ceremonies; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea High School Parent Teacher Student Association for the 2021 Waiakea High School commemorative gift for graduating seniors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $1,100 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $1,100 CREDITED TO: 010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $1,100 Public Programs 115 Misc. Contract Services (Waiakea High School PTSA — 2021 Commemorative Gift for Graduating Seniors) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
