14 a of <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII • STATE OF HAWAII <br />TE OF•M' <br />RESOLUTION NO. `L23 21 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ARTS AND SCIENCE <br />CENTER FOR A REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATED TO PROVIDING <br />LIVE STREAMING OF VARIOUS SCHOOL EVENTS. <br />WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports <br />community development, greater access to education, and improving the quality of life through <br />learning with aloha; and <br />WHEREAS, current health and safety guidelines from Governor Ige's most recent <br />proclamation have limited community events and gatherings; and <br />WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center provided livestream coverage of athletic <br />scrimmages, Senior Project Night, Commencement, and other school events to keep the <br />community connected during the COVID-19 pandemic; and <br />WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center is requesting funds for reimbursement of live <br />streaming equipment and services for community events; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol -free <br />community events and programs that improve the well-being of our youth; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to Arts and Science Center for a reimbursement of expenses <br />related to live streaming equipment and services for community events. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
