RESOLUTION NO. `L23 21
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ARTS AND SCIENCE
CENTER FOR A REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATED TO PROVIDING
LIVE STREAMING OF VARIOUS SCHOOL EVENTS.
WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports
community development, greater access to education, and improving the quality of life through
learning with aloha; and
WHEREAS, current health and safety guidelines from Governor Ige's most recent
proclamation have limited community events and gatherings; and
WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center provided livestream coverage of athletic
scrimmages, Senior Project Night, Commencement, and other school events to keep the
community connected during the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center is requesting funds for reimbursement of live
streaming equipment and services for community events; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol -free
community events and programs that improve the well-being of our youth; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to Arts and Science Center for a reimbursement of expenses
related to live streaming equipment and services for community events.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
