Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 109-21, reports as follows:
Resolution Number 109-21, transmitted by Director of Finance Deanna Sako via Communication
No. 223 dated April 16, 2021, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than
one fiscal year for an extension of a multi-year lease of real property for the County of Hawai`i Police
Department warehouse in Kea`au, District of Puna.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a four-year lease extension for 12,000 square feet of
warehouse space.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Pursuant to Hawai`i County Charter Section 10-11, any contract lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by resolution.
Your Committee.on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 109-21, and
recommends its adoption.
