Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with(1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, which
1 provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of
money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and with(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (b), of the Hawai`i County Code, which
states that a gift or donation of money, securities, or personal property not covered by the
capitalization procedures (of the Department of Finance) shall be submitted to the
Council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the following
donation:
Twenty-two cases of bottled water valued at approximately $120. This donation
from Waiakea Springs shall be used for the County of Hawaii Sustainability
Summit.
Please send a letter of appreciation to Waiakea Springs, 447 Kalaniana`ole Ave., Hilo, HI
96720. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Kate Logan of the Office

RE: COMMUNICATION NO. 252 : COMMUNICATION ACCEPTING BY
LETTER OF APPROVAL THE DONATION OF (22) TWNETY-TWO CASES OF
BOTTLED WATER VALUED AT $120.00.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter,timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in,the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
