Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a resolution accepting monetary donations of$42,300 from HieHie
Communications, 76-6311 Mahuahua Pl., Kailua-Kona, HI 96740-2223 (donation
amount of$700), Hawai`i Tropical Botanical Garden, 27-717 Old Mamalahoa Hwy.,
Papa`ikou, HI 96781 (donation amount of$5,000), The Edmund Olson Family
Foundation, 11560 Tennessee Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90064 (donation amount of
$10,000), Hawaiian Electric in care of HTBG, 27-717 Old Mamalahoa Hwy., Papa'ikou,
HI 96781 (donation amount of$5,000), Ulupono Initiative, 999 Bishop Street, Suite
1202, Honolulu, HI 96813 (donation amount of$1,600) and an anonymous donor
(donation amount of$20,000). These funds are being given to the County of Hawaii to
be used towards the costs and expenses of the County of Hawaii Sustainability Summit.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
these funds into the Office of the Management's "COH Sustainability Program" account.
The Office of the Mayor is requesting that this resolution and bill be waived from
Finance Committee and be placed on the May 19, 2021 Council agenda to expedite the
receipt of these funds. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Kate

Council action is requested to accept and acknowledge the donations of$42,300.00 to be used towards the
costs and expenses of the County of Hawaii March 3 &4, 2021 Sustainability Summit.
We request to waive Finance Committee in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
