COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. iZG 21 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF MONETARY <br />DONATIONS OF $42,300 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />WHEREAS, HieHie Communications (donation amount of $700), Hawaii <br />Tropical Botanical Garden (donation amount of $5,000), The Edmund Olson Family <br />Foundation (donation amount of $10,000), Hawaiian Electric in care of HTBG <br />(donation amount of $5,000), Ulupono Initiative (donation amount of $1,600) and an <br />anonymous donor (donation amount of $20,000) are donating $42,300 to the County <br />of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used towards the costs and expenses of the <br />County of Hawaii Sustainability Summit; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br />that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br />securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br />and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br />any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br />capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br />Resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that <br />cash donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal <br />Resolution process; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Mayor recommends the acceptance of these <br />donations; now, therefore, <br />
