STATE OF HAWAII IL2 7 2i A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII RISE FOUNDATION FOR THE HONOMU RESILIENCE HUB, TO SUPPORT SUMMER LEARNING AND RECREATION FOR KEIKI. WHEREAS, Hawaii Rise Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for vulnerable, or moderate and low-income families and children by providing educational and cultural services, programs, and support; and WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is a community organization dedicated to shifting deficit narratives, systems, and policy that perpetuate poverty and inequity, and implementing strategies that are developed and resourced by the community and reflect native intelligence; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Rise Foundation is working with Vibrant Hawaii and the Honomu Resilience Hub to provide a summer learning and recreation program for the keiki of the community; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Rise Foundation is requesting funds to support Honomu Resilience Hub's ability to continue offering these essential services, specifically providing learning support and recreation for keiki, during the summer of 2021; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this project, because it is compatible with its mission to provide diversified recreation programs that address the needs and interests of the respective communities in a safe environment with zero tolerance for illegal drugs and violence for residents in Hawaii County; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hawaii Rise Foundation for the Honomu Resilience Hub to support summer learning and recreation for keiki in the community; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $8,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $8,000 C"M111 WORE43 010.500.5503.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $8,000 P&R Admin OCE 115 Misc. Contract Services (Hawai`i Rise Foundation- Honomu Resilience Hub) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
