Subject: PRIORITIZE THE LAND
Hello,
My name is Miranda. Although I did not grow up on the island, it has had such a major impact on my
family. My mom grew up in Hawaii and on occasion, we get to visit and see these treasured places that
hold many memories for her. The land is cherished not only for its views but for the greater purpose it
serves. Protecting and prioritizing the land and the wildlife that inhabit it is crucial. The Res. 82-21:
PAHOEHOE OF LA'ALOA is crucial to the water purification on this island. Nature serves such
a big purpose in clenaing the water before it returns to the ocean. This is so important to
maintaining the amazing ecosystem that attracts so many to the island. What should matter is
the land and maintaining the beautiful ecosystem and keeping space for the people of Hawaii. Although
tourism can be profitable, eventually it will bring in nothing if the land is devastated. It is critical that this
land is maintained and not misused. It serves the ecosystem and the community and should continue to do
so without interruption and destruction.
Thank you for your time,
Miranda Bria<e r-';'
