Aloha Commissioners and Council Members,
Iles. 83-21: Ke Ala Kakou (Holualoa Community Forest)
TMK 76-004-003 Land Area (Acerage): 2.488 acres
Our family moved to Holualoa from Oahu about three years ago and cannot tell you how blessed we feel to have
moved to such an amazing place. This community has given us all a sense of belonging and purpose like no other
place I have ever lived. The beauty of this area is unique and needs to be protected, in doing so this land will protect
us. I understand that we are a smaller area, but the power of the community is strong. The future of our environment
is not clear and flooding is considered a real threat. This land parcel can assist in the protection of the town as well as
help us grow. IIolualoa town's Hawaiian character elevates the entire island, residents, and visitors. This area has an
important history and we want to create a future that honors that for our children. The investment you make in this
community would not be a waste but a wise and fruitful decision. The space would be used to uplift the community
further and allow us to be a resource to the area surrounding. There is a generosity in this place that I have never
experienced, and that could be depending on by our government. The area is well placed to withstand numerous
natural disasters and climate changing effects, but equally valuable is the close relationships we have would allow for
us quickly mobilized to assist if needed.
Please strongly consider this acquisition and understand the importance it means to the entire island. Allow IIolualoa
town to continue to grow and be an example what makes Hawaii so special in this world.
