Subject: written testimony concerning the purchase of acreage along the Kona coast using PONC
Funds
I am writing in support of the purchase through the County: PONC Fund of a 2.488 acre parcel (Res.83-21) aka Ke Ala Kakou
(Holualoa Community Forest). I reside up in Holualoa, and am happy to see this, along 3 other Kona properties, up before the
County Council for possible purchase. I believe any acreage dedicated to the preservation of natural forest, cultural preservation,
and mitigating possible flood damage would be of benefit to the community. Using money from the PONC fund to do so would be a
great investment, on many levels. I support the purchase of all four land parcels up for consideration by the County Council, if
possible. What a great opportunity!
