Aloha,
I am writing as a resident of Holualoa, and as a parent of two Holualoa Elementary School children. There is so much need in this
tiny town for more space to keep our children safe. The daily traffic and dangers to pedestrians is enough of a reason to purchase
the Ke Ala Kakou lot. Furthermore, the special celebrations at the school, such as spring and winter tests and regular movies nights
create an even greater need for the purchase of the lot. Holualoa town has become more of a community place where people come
together to celebrate and share together. Lights festivals, Kona coffee festivals, First Fridays and more all create opportunities for
people to share and also potential times where someone will be killed on the road due to lack of a safe space and motorists not using
enough caution. I urge you to purchase the Ke Ala Kakou Lot for the safety and betterment of the Holualoa town. For too long the
conditions have been unsafe and have not kept up with the growth of the town and its place in the lives of the people. Please help
us to make our beloved Holualoa a safer, more gracious place to gather and live.
Mahalo
