HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 132 Draft 01 2020-2022A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE MATERIALS FOR REPAIRS AND
MAINTENANCE OF THE MAKAʻEO WALKING PATH AT THE OLD KONA AIRPORT PARK.
WHEREAS, the Makaʻeo Walking Path is a shared-use pathway approximately one mile long that is located at the County’s Old Kona Airport Park; and
WHEREAS, the Makaʻeo Walking Path consists of two paved-asphalt loops, an exercise pavilion, colorful gardens, an anchialine pond, and a north- and south-end lawn that are hosts to
weekly physical activities, lessons, and events for the community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is working in partnership with Friends for Fitness, a nonprofit organization that assists the County with maintaining the Maka‘eo Walking
Path; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase materials to be utilized by Friends for Fitness for repairs and maintenance of the Makaʻeo Walking Path;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to purchase
materials for repairs and maintenance of the Maka‘eo Walking Path at the Old Kona Airport Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
