COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control will be vacating the West Hawaii Civic Center and desires to lease approximately 2,162 square feet of office space situated at Hanama Place, in Kailua-Kona, County and State of Hawaii, from Puna Plantation Hawaii, Limited ("Landlord"); and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control desires to enter into a multi-year lease agreement that is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2021, for four (4) years and eleven (11) months, with the option to extend the lease for an additional four (4) years and eleven (11) months with Landlord; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlord for office space; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that pursuant to section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a four (4) year and eleven (11) month lease agreement with an option for extension for the Department of Liquor Control Kona office as indicated above. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the Lease.
