I SUPPORT the County to purchase Properties in Kona for PONC Open Space for the followtirg
reasons; ate"
My name is Cindy Freitas and I'm a Native Hawaiian descended of the native inhabitants of Hawai'i
prior to 1778 and born and raised in Hawai'i.
I am also a practitioner who still practice the cultural traditional customary practices that was instill in
me by my grandparents at a young age from mauka (MOUNTAIN TO SEA) to makai in many areas.
We as practitioners are still today doing our cultural traditional customary practices on these lands
including Keakealaniwahi of Holualoa, La'aloa and Pahoehoe of La'aloa.
There are cultural things consist with monumental walls, lawai'a, platforms, AHU and BURIALS, hula,
surfing ect., in these area and also recorded on the State Historical Preservation, as well as the tress that
provides a habitat for Hawaiian Hoary bats
'Wherefore, I humbly ask the County Council Commissioners to Support RES-81-21
