To the Hawaii County Council:
My name is Laura Mallery-Sayre and I speak in favor of Resoution-81-21 to purchase
Magic Sands of La'aloa TMK 7-7004:013 consisting of 8.814 Acres with the PONC
funding available for land preservation. I concur with Simmy McMicheals when she
states : i"

This area is directly mauka of Pahoehoe Beach Park. This purchase would enlarge the 33
park. Due to climate change and sea levels rising it is good to ensure we have a park in —
the future. We need green open space with trees to mitigate water ways to foster a health°
eco system. This land also has many archeological structures and burials to preserve ander i777
to protect. "=1
This type of land purchase is exactly what our community envisioned when it passed the
2 % Land Acquisition amendment years ago.
Please support this very meaningful purchase.
