SUBJECT: Presentation of the June 2021 Haweo Award to Hawai`i Fire Department
Awardee on the June 1, 2021 —Parks and Recreation and Public Safety
Committee
We are requesting approximately 10 minutes for presentation of the June 2021 Haweo Award to
Hawai`i Fire Department recipient, Clyde 'Kai' Willey—Fire Fighter/Emergency Medical
Technician.
The Haweo Award Program recognizes employees of our Fire and Police `ohana that perform
their duties "above and beyond the call". "Haweo"means to glow or to be radiant, and it is right
and just to recognize department employees who serve as shining examples of Hawai`i County's
finest public servants.
We request that this presentation take place on the Parks and Recreation and Public Safety
Committee on June 1, 2021, and that this committee be scheduled at 9:00 a.m. to better
accommodate the department's schedule.
