RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION CHANGING THE FUNDING SOURCE OF ONE (1)
ACCOUNTANT I POSITION
WHEREAS, in 2019, the State of Hawaii, Department of Health
Emergency Medical Services and Injury Prevention System Branch, through an
agreement with the Hawaii County Fire Department, provided state funding for
one (1) position under the Emergency Medical Services Program;
WHEREAS, the state funding for this one (1) Accountant I, position
number 00-05073, has ceased due to a reduction in grant funding; and
WHEREAS, this position is critical for the Fire Department's fiscal division
as they are severely understaffed and is tasked with providing island -wide
services to the Department and the public; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the County will continue to fund the Accountant I position (Position No. 00-
05073).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds should be available in the
various regular salaries and wages accounts of the Fire Department for this
position.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor,
Department of Finance, Department of Human Resources and Fire Department.
