Subject: Resolution 105-21
I am writing to ask the county council to vote in favor of Resolution 105-21 that would create a road improvement district in Hawaiian Acres.
I have lived in Hawaiian Acres since 1975. I've been on the Hawaiian Acres road committees and have worked on the roads here all that
time. Lot owners have dealt with the frustration of trying to upkeep the roads with only voluntary contributions since the inception of the
subdivision in 1958. Our band-aid approach to road maintenance has kept the roads barely passable through the years but now we are having
an influx of development in addition to seriously deteriorating pavement on our main road.We can't do this alone. Road One,the main artery
into the upper part of the subdivision, sees several hundred cars and trucks per day. This past rainy season left sections of the road impassable
for smaller vehicles. The roads need to be engineered and built correctly.Accessibility for police, fire and medical services would benefit our
community as well as the county itself. The majority of the residents are willing, even anxious,to pay for these improvements in extra
property taxes. Please help us along this process.
