Subject: Resolution 105-21
I am writing to request the County Council to vote in favor of Resolution 105-21 which would create a Road
Improvement District in Hawaiian Acres. I have lived in Hawaiian Acres since 1995. My husband has been on the
Hawaiian Acres road committees and has worked on the roads here since 1975. We have contributed our equipment,
volunteer labor and funds for all of these years in an attempt to keep the roads passable; however, with the influx of
development and seriously deteriorating pavement on our main road (called Road One), we cannot continue to do this
alone, we need help. Although the lots of Hawaiian Acres were sold without any infrastructure guarantees, the issue
of water drainage was supposed to be taken care of by the original developers. Water drainage problems are primarily
causing the destruction of our roadways. There are several hundred cars and trucks per day on Road One, not
counting school buses. The roads need to be engineered and built correctly. The majority of the residents are willing
to pay for these improvements in extra property taxes. Please help us to achieve these improvements.
