Subject: Road improvement Hawaiian Acres = o.->-
Greetings council members,
RE: Improvement District Resolution Hawaiian Acres
My name is Fred Hofer, i am board member at Laege in the Hawaiian Acres community association, $ i do have
grave concerns.
On March 18 i first realized that improved gravel roads COULD be read as "brought up to county staards"-non if
the respondents to the initial survey reads "improved gravel road" as such. Double lane on the half mile anyone drives
on the numbered road to get to an alphabet road -that is excessive , unnecessary &uncalled for.
Hawaiian Acres is one of the last places where local people can afford to be - prices already jump up just with rumors
of pavement.
A lot in the middle with just a pad for a catchment just sold for 57000. That is SCARY
Also, if you want to bring a road up to county standards -take Moho, 8 rd-which you have been using as emergency
access road- while it is not wide enough to be one, it is highly dangerous to walk or ride s bicycle &wd still waiting
for the promised pedestrian path on8 rd
All those people now so concerned about ambulance making it on time-they all recently moved here - Knowing -
seeing the state of the roads they have moved on to.
And we CAN fix our own roads. Look at e rd. Donations of residents & know-how from Roberta-who now again
serves on the HARC made it possible.
While i am for giving 1 rd to the county, and paving 1rd, G rd & connect those to Ainaloa - i respectfully ask you to
first fix 8 rd - Moho - widen it & give us the promised pedestrian path - BEFORE you vote to touch any of our other
roads..
We have been deceived by the language that has been used - "improved a gravel road"
Please do vote AGAINST this resolution at this time & give us time to submit a better, a substantially slimmed down
plan.
Thank you!
