Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Sham Armbruster of District 9 for appointment to the Leeward
Planning Commission.
Ms. Armbruster, a full-time resident of Hawaii County since 2014,brings a unique perspective
to land use issues and is excited to participate in the evolution of a healthy, sustainable, Hawaii
Island community.
Ms. Armbruster received her master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from New Orleans
University in 2012, with graduate level research and planning in community resilience,
participatory democracy, land restoration, and projects to improve access in transportation.
Since 2014, Ms. Armbruster has been employed as a Project Manager at Tinguely Development
in Kailua-Kona, whose community projects include the Hawaii Island Humane Society facility,
Hawaii Wildlife Center, and the Na LamakA Emergency Shelter. She is an active member of
the American Planning Association and voltrnteers her time with the Hawaii Island Humane
Society and Three Ring Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary. If confinned, she will serve a term to end
December 31, 2023.
