Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Donala Kawa`auhau of Council District 4 to the Salary
Commission.
Dr. Kawa`auhau is a life-long resident of Hawai'i Island and since 2008 an Associate Professor
at Hawaii Community College teaching courses in marketing and management. She earned her
Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University in 2015 and
completed a second master's degree in Audio Production and Sound Design in 2018, to further
support her love of music and radio production.
Dr. Kawa`auhau brings academic pursuit and passion to the study and practice of business
administration and is excited to give back to the community. She is an active community
supporter, coordinating the annual calendar of events with student volunteers, organizing food
drives, overseas military correspondence, holiday meals, toy collections, and more. If
confirmed, she will serve a term to end December 31, 2025.
