Aloha to whom this may concern,
I would like to give my testimony for the removal of Mark Van Pernis. sm f
My name is Lyla Mah, I am from Kamuela. w
I was a testifier in the recent hearing for Kate and Doug Hickeys Special use permit. We had two dlffe ei nt he-wrings
which I was a part of. In the first hearing on September 21, 2020 we were given 3 minutes to give our testimony and
in the middle of my testimony Mr. Van Pernis very rudely interrupted my testimony to ask me questions of which he
knew I would not know the answer. Not only was he rude and interruptive to the testifiers but also other people who
were on the board and speaking during the hearing. It was obvious that this was not a one off occurrence and that he
was comfortable interrupting anyone speaking and going off topic. On the second hearing he seemed a little more
reserved during testimony but this was also after it was publicly announced that Mayor Roth had called for his
removal. I hope that these things will all be considered in his pending removal.
