Councilmember Sue Lee Loy, Chair, and members of the Human Services and Social Services
Committee:

Mahalo nui loa to the County of Hawaii and this year's Nonprofit Grant Program Ad-Hoc Committee for
the generous financial assistance and awards for both the Hawaii Island School Garden Network and
the Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School. We recognize the changes presented to the Ad-Hoc
Committee this year and value the process taken by the committee to hear and evaluate the multitude
of community programs.This funding will significantly help both of our programs in a year when much
is still changing, and supporting our teachers and students is more important than ever.
We look forward to utilizing our networks and established partnerships to increase the impact of these
funds and spread the support throughout our community. You can trust in our integrity and standard of
excellence in our programs and overall organization. Mahalo for your time and thoughtful
