A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WAIMEA ARTS COUNCIL
FOR ITS LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE EXPENSES.
WHEREAS, Waimea Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to promoting the arts, the encouragement of artists, and providing a forum for art-related events
in Hawai‘i; and
WHEREAS, Waimea Arts Council, founded in 1974 and established as a nonprofit organization in 1978, is a volunteer organization supported through donations, as well as dues and contributions
from artists who utilize the facility to sell their artwork; and
WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Waimea Arts Council was unable to generate revenue for approximately six months, however, was still required to provide landscape maintenance
pursuant to its lease agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to Waimea Arts Council for its landscape maintenance expenses.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
