WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to increase the number of successful community projects that
benefit North Kohala; and
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center, in partnership with
community groups offering food assistance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, provides locally
grown produce and proteins to approximately 250 families in the North Kohala community each
month; and
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center seeks reimbursement of
expenses relating to its Feed Kohala program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that
promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to North Kohala Community Resource Center for a
reimbursement of expenses relating to its Feed Kohala program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
