Mahalo Ke Akua for gracing us, our tutu's, our kupuna with your living spirit, through your son lesu, it is
through that spirit of grace, I place my testament of faith and glory in Akua first and foremost, guiding my
testimony of an inherited stewardship through Akua's Kealoha.
Aloha, My name is NANI MAKANOENOE KUPIHE, born and raised in Keauhou-Kona. I am sister to
KEAWE KAOMEA KAANAANA KUPIHE ALAPAI (k), born unto our mother KALUA PIMOE LAHAPA
KANEMANO ALAPAI (w)of Kona and father ALAPAKI KAANAANA KUPIHEA(k)of Kahaluu-Keauhou.
Through Akua's graces, and kealoha upon our lineal descents from our mother's paternal ascensions
orate fourteen generations to our tutu wahine KEAKEALANIWAHINE and her parents, twelveth to our tutu
kane KEAWEKEKAHIALIIOKAMOKU tutu's wahine's son. In pairing both our mother and father maternal
and paternal lineal ascension orate eight generations each to our tutu kane KAMEHAMEHA I, known as
PAIEA in his adolescence and his parents five generations, four times, Naha of MOKUNUI O KEAWE,
graced by Akua's KeAloha. My ancestors, your ancestors, our ancestors. Testament through
spiritual-genealogical inheritance, bears testimony of Ke Akua's presence in every generation. Our tutu's
live well, being of good health, our moku thrive, our source of spiritual connection to Akua's life force are
rooted deep, in kino and uhane, of body and spirit. A living culture, living nation.
KEAUHOU is our new current today, shifting in our favor our meaning all present. Through Akua's grace,
knowledge, wisdom and understanding, we are able to Ho'okahi in unison. Akua at the forefront of Aloha
in our stewardship of our self, our moku and our ohana, all of us, to Kupono. That same capacity is our
tutu's pule to Akua, at that time called KAONOHIOKALA, today is AKUA and son IESU, as one looks up
to the sun, the moon, stars and sky, zenith to horizon, for spiritual guidance. To hana ka lima kino, hang
ka lima uhane, together serving Akua, stewarding self and stewardship of our mokunui. We are bound,
accountable in unison.
Aloha Council Commissioners and Aloha to your Tutu's, our Tutu's that are present, seated in the kuleana
of stewardship for our people, for our community. We come together to reinforce the strutt's of a working
wheel that has already been created by faith in Akua. Revitalizing our living inheritance of livelihood,
perpetuating spiritual and cultural practices for our families, our community, at these sites, for recreational
use. Be steadfast, in favor once more Council Commissioners to lead in righteousness today and our
generations to come. 'E ola mau loa kealoha", " May the spirit of Akua's Aloha be with each and every
one of you"
