RESOLUTION NO. JL54 21
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF A ONE -METER DIVING STAND AND DIVING BOARD
TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIJ DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION.
WHEREAS, Hawaii HI -Diving Friends is donating a one -meter diving stand and
diving board to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the one -meter diving stand and diving board, valued at approximately
$14,750, will be located at the Charles "Sparky" Kawamoto Swim Stadium; and
WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I,, in
accordance with Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawai'i, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Hawaii HI -Diving Friends, 196 Ho'onanea Street, Hilo, HI 96720.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the
Office of the Mayor.
