ISS 21 <br />,� • <br />l "01V , <br />11fs <br />WHEREAS, the Friends of Pana`ewa Zoo is donating an `Alala (Hawaiian Crow) <br />enclosure to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation; and <br />WHEREAS, the `Alala enclosure, valued at $143,409.04, will be located at the <br />Pana`ewa Zoo and utilized as the only public exhibit in the world of this endangered native <br />species; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br />council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this <br />donation; now, therefore, <br />i i i <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br />Hawaii, accepts this donation. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this <br />resolution be sent to Pat Engelhard, President, The Friends of Pana`ewa Zoo, PO Box 738, <br />Kea`au, HI 96749. <br />
