Re: Operating Budget
In the current Budget Ordinance 21-38, $50,000 is appropriated in the Police
Department's Statewide Multi-Jurisdiction Drug Task Force account. Additional
federally-derived funds in the amount of$4,927 are being provided by the State
Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division to
reduce drug threats and drug related crimes in the State of Hawai`i.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police's Statewide Multi-Jurisdiction Drug
Task Force account, bringing the total appropriation to $54,927.
The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and
be placed on the July 7, 2021 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these
funds. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Hauoli Aiona of the
Hawaii County Police Department at 961-2273.
