Subject: Testimony In Support Of Bill 22, Draft 2
The subject bill provides an appropriation for repair work of the Makea Stream
bridge, which will restore access to the Kaupakuea homestead by its residents
and visitors.
Erosion damage has made passage upon the bridge dangerous and the
Department Of Public Works has closed the bridge. Fortunately, access has
been provided via a private road agreement. That agreement has been
extended until the end of this calendar year, providing time for the needed
bridge repair to be completed. In order for that work to be done, Bill 22, Draft 2
provides the required funding.
am in support of the intent and purpose of Bill 22, Draft 2, and urge favorable
consideration be given to the approval of the related appropriation.
