Ka Makani 0 Kohala Ohana strongly supports Comm. 104.7 that adds $5 million to the
Capital Improvement Budget (Bill 22 D 2) for improvements to Mahukona Park in North
Kohala.
Since 2008 the Action Committee of the NK Community Development Plan has called funding
of the replacement of the pavilion as the community's highest priority in the CIP. Despite
that, the park was allowed to deteriorate to where it was condemned, boarded up and the
entire park has been unsafe for over two years.
WE HAVE NO PARK.
The Save Mahukona Action Committee and the Parks, Water, Roads Group of the CDP have
been working with Parks and Rec, to plan and rebuild the pavilion.
Please include funding to remove the condemned structure and re-build it in the CIP.
