RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW TEMPORARY POSITION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaiʻi was awarded federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary to implement the “Kuleana Health” program;
and
WHEREAS, the creation of one (1) new, temporary position is needed to support this program; and
WHEREAS, the position indicated above is an Economic Development Specialist III (Temp) that will be funded through the Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Response
to COVID-19 grant; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that one (1) Economic Development Specialist III (Temp) position be created in the Department of Research and Development.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Office of the Mayor and the Departments of Finance, Research and Development and Human Resources.
