Aloha Kakou,
I am a kupuna born & raised in Kohala, moved to Kona now back to Kohala since 1998 to enjoy our"Golden"years.
My Mother, Grandparents & generations before them were also born & raised here in Kohala. Mahukona has always been
a place we all frequented for work, fishing, swimming, family outings, picnics, camp outs, birthday parties, weddings,
etc. and now we as a community would love to be able to get this special "Wahi Pana"fixed up and back to what it
was in the days of our youth. A place for us & our mo'opuna to be able to enjoy with clean faciIities(bathrooms),
runnng water to shower or cook and shelter (pavillion). Grassy areas to set up a place for a picnic, etc.
People in our community are willing to help with the labor, some even monetarily. So we ask all of you whom we
have voted for& put our trust in, to please kokua and help us make this a reality for us and our future generations.
We would also like for you to use your influence?with the State and see how they can help by making the pier
a safer place for everyone to swim &fish.
